About the School

Hacettepe University Hacettepe Ankara Chamber of Industry 1st Organized Industrial Zone Vocational School of Higher Education was established in 2012 within the Ankara Chamber of Industry 1st Organized Industrial Zone to develop and strengthen university–industry cooperation. Our Vocational School of Higher Education is a practice- and employment-oriented higher education institution that integrates vocational and technical education with the real working environment of industry.

Located within the Ankara Chamber of Industry 1st Organized Industrial Zone, our Vocational School brings together the scientific and academic expertise of Hacettepe University with the production experience, technological infrastructure and qualified workforce requirements of the industrial enterprises operating in the region. Since its establishment, the School has aimed to create a sustainable cooperation environment between academia and industry, develop its curricula in line with sectoral needs and enable students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real working environments.

The location of our Vocational School within ASO 1st OIZ, one of Ankara’s major industrial and production centres, enables our students to interact directly with industrial enterprises, observe production processes on site and prepare for professional life by gaining practical experience.

The primary objective of our Vocational School is to educate qualified Engineering Technician who embrace scientific thinking, follow technological developments, apply their professional knowledge and skills in practice, possess occupational health and safety awareness, adhere to ethical principles and develop solutions to the changing needs of industry. Our institutional vision is to become an innovative and pioneering educational institution that maintains continuous cooperation with industry and meets the high standards required by contemporary vocational and technical education.

Our Vocational School offers four associate degree programmes under three departments.

University–Industry Cooperation

Cooperation with industry is not merely a complementary component of our educational model; it is a fundamental element of our institutional identity.

Industry advisory boards established for each programme within our Vocational School carry out their activities with the participation of academics, industry representatives, alumni and experts from different higher education institutions.

Through these boards:

  • The current and future workforce needs of the relevant sectors are assessed.
  • Course content and programme learning outcomes are reviewed.
  • The integration of emerging technologies into the curriculum is supported.
  • Students’ professional development needs are identified.
  • Workplace-based training processes are continuously improved.

The placement of students in enterprises and the monitoring of workplace-based training are coordinated by vocational education committees established at both Vocational School and departmental levels. This structure ensures institutional continuity between academic education and practical training conducted in industrial enterprises.

Projects, Innovation and Internationalisation

Our Vocational School places considerable importance on national and international project activities to ensure that its educational programmes remain aligned with technological and sectoral developments.

Through projects conducted or supported by our academic staff, the School aims to integrate knowledge and experience in areas such as advanced manufacturing technologies, digital learning tools, inclusive vocational education approaches, sustainability, energy technologies, design, and occupational health and safety into its educational programmes.

Our students are encouraged to participate in:

Career and Alumni Support

Our workplace-based training model allows students to be recognised and evaluated by employers while continuing their education. Following graduation, some students may have the opportunity to work in the enterprises where they completed their workplace-based training or in other organisations operating in the same sectors.

Graduates who wish to continue their education at bachelor’s degree level may transfer to eligible undergraduate programmes in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Vertical Transfer Examination and the programmes specified in the relevant year’s ÖSYM guide.
